What is Kabbalah and how is it relevant to our everyday lives? Is there a way to live mystically in an “ordinary” world? In this class, renowned scholar and author Rabbi Simon Jacobson will address these questions and more.
He will discuss kabbalistic perspectives on suffering and happiness, death and the meaning of life, and the structure of the cosmos. He will give us an overview of: the tradition’s history and great texts; its model of cosmic order, including the “four worlds” and “ten spheres”; the relationships of masculine and feminine forces and of good and evil; the potent symbolism of the “tree of knowledge”; and more. We will also learn prayers and powerful meditation practices.
