The M.A. Degree in Integral Counseling Psychology

The New York Open Center is pleased to announce a partnership with the California Institute of Integral Studies in launching its own Institute for Psychological Studies. The California Institute of Integral Studies(CIIS) is a regionally acredited and highly regarded graduate school. Together, the two organizations are offering a Masters of Arts degree in counseling psychology, known as the The Integral Counseling Psychology Program (ICP), which is to be taken at The Open Center in New York. 

The degree is designed to adhere to New York State requirements for the state licensing of mental health counselors. 

ICP is the first East- West graduate psychology program in the world and was founded 30 years ago at the California Institute.  It brings together East and West philosophies in order to facilitate psychological healing using spiritual growth. 

Admissions criteria is based on various personal experience with  such holistic or traditional practices as yoga, mediation, therapy, counseling, or a BA in psychology. No GRE's, test scores, or previous related courses are required.

The program is anticipated to begin Fall 2006.  At this time, New York Open Center is also working along with the New York State Department of Education to ensure that all needed state requirements are met by the program.
