Kundalini Yoga - A Journey thru the Chakras with Ravi Singh

Chakras are energy distribution centers along the spine which relate to
specific frequencies of our instinctual, biological, and spiritual selves. This
model represents the complete spectrum of the human experience.  These energy centers reflect a personal orientation, world view, and according to the Eastern teachings, literal worlds.

Chakras are spinning wheels of energy which correspond to important nerve
plexi or glands.   Familiarity with this model can give you cogent insights into your life and how to transform it.

Each chakra has a polarity.  In order for our lives to be in balance we have
to orchestrate a harmony in this dialectic.  This balance is represented by
the phrases: earth/eather, sex/sixth sense, love/will, known/Unknown.

The Ajna Chakra, also known as the Third Eye, is the etheric counterpart of
the pituitary gland.  Ajna means command.  This is the command center of our awareness and gives us the ability to command our own minds.  It's been said that one's Destiny is written on one's forehead.  More accurately, when this center has been activated one can see clearly how to walk the path they were born to follow.

Many people think that the goal of yoga and meditation is to raise one's
energy to the higher centers.  Actually we want to allow for the free flow of
energy through all the centers.  The chakras don't open until the energy
circulates down.  This process is called integration.  The ideal can be likened to an automatic transmission.  When energy is flowing freely we can easily be in the right mode for what circumstance we find ourselves in.  In a life and death situation we need to be in the first center.  While negotiating a business deal we need to be at the Navel Center.  In the normal course of human affairs we want to be projecting from the Heart Center.

Anyone can do deep breathing for an hour and activate the higher centers but unless this is done in an integrated fashion the result will only be spaciness or disassociation.  The drama of our unfolding entails learning to draw upon higher frequencies in practical, sustainable ways.  This takes honest work on oneself and the willingness to live consciously and be true to ourselves.  This process is the drama of our lives.

On Friday/Saturday March 19/20 we'll be teaching at Star Vision in Chappaqua. Friday night will feature a presentation called: Kundalini: The Art & Science of Spirit Rising.  We'll discuss the myths and mysteries of Kundalini and lead people through seated yoga and breathing exercises which will open you to greater possibilities of the Self.  Thus Kundalini is the catalyst for personal greatness and super-abundant creativity.

Saturday's class is A Journey thru the Chakras.  You'll learn which chakra(s) is your main orientation, and where your blocks are and how to dissolve them. We'll do a comprehensive Kundlaini Yoga workout featuring exercises and meditations for each of these chakras.  This work will help your life flow the way it's meant to. Knowledge of this model will give you deeper insight into people and their passions and enhance your yoga teaching and/or practice.

Both classes will feature a sonic healing to the transcendent sounds of live
gong music.  To register for these classes call StarVision: 914.238.9640
