Dear Readers,

January is the first month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar and one of seven Gregorian months with the length of 31 days.

January is named for Janus, the Roman god of doors and gateways.

The first day of the month is known as New Year's Day. The first Monday in January is known as Handsel Monday in Scotland and northern England.

In the pagan wheel of the year, January ends at or near to Imbolc.

January’s flower is the Carnation.

Kyoto Now!

In a meeting of American Geophysical Union in San Francisco, Dr. James Hansen stated that just 1c of global warming would take the Earth into climate patterns it has not experienced for more than 500,000 years. However, serious and persistent action on energy efficiency to bring about reductions in greenhouse gas emission could lead to some stabilization.  So tell our government: Kyoto Now!

Books
The Wave by Jude Currivan, PhD.
"The author’s own diverse background and training in cosmology, quantum physics and metaphysics, has enabled her to make some insightful and compelling connections between what she terms “the perennial wisdom” of traditional teachings and the most cutting-edge of science and research findings."

The Secret Key by Stephen Thomson
"This book is loaded with easy to follow concepts and exercises and that alone is worthwhile, but one of the real strengths of The Secret Key is Thomson’s own experience as he relays what changes to expect as you increase your psychic abilities. "

Men & Spirituality
Darshan with the Hiranyagharba Lingam "The Golden Egg of Creation"

"Brahma is depicted as growing out of the navel lotus of Narayana and is a metaphor for all of creation. Brahma is a name for the principle which creates all of the manifest realms. In the Vedas the term "Brahma" does not appear. It is a word that stems from the Sanskrit word "Brih" which means "to grow" or "to expand." In this way Brahma has become synonymous with Hiranyagharba, "The golden egg of creation."
